What is Aqua Flies?
Aqua Flies is a fly design and manufacturing company with a focus on Steelhead flies.

What sets Aqua Flies apart from other fly manufacturers?
We start with proven, innovative patterns.  Aqua Flies taps into the expertise of talented fly tiers and guides.  The flies are hand tied under the supervision of a knowledgeable, lifelong fly fisherman. Quality and attention to detail are emphasized at every step.

Why are you making AquaTalon hooks?
In the production of Aqua Flies, we found we were purchasing so many hooks from well known hook manufacturers, it was an easy decision to produce the AquaTalon Hook.  Using Jerry French’s background in design, we set out to bring to market a swing hook that is superior to any on the market.  We contracted with an established hook manufacturer in Japan to produce our hooks in a range of sizes.

In addition to hooks, we are also producing our own shanks that are used in the production of our flies and are also available to the consumer.

Where can I buy these flies?
Our flies are available only through authorized retailers. Please contact a retailer listed on our BUY page. We will update the page as we add more dealers.

Can I sell your flies?
Please contact us if you are interested in becoming a dealer.

Do you carry inventory?
We do stock all of the flies that appear on our website. Orders are shipped to dealers from Northern California. Large orders will be produced at the factory, with a minimum lead time of 8 weeks.

Who are the people behind Aqua Flies?
Aqua Flies is owned and operated by Doug Brutocao. The flies are designed and field tested by Doug, Stuart Foxall, Jason Hartwick.  We have many people around the globe using Aqua Flies and providing input to design.   All three men are passionate about fly fishing and have a long history in the industry.
